Circlorate your Images

Inspired by some artworks by Mexican artist Gabriel Orozco I saw just recently I decided to develop a tool for doing some kind of circle slice rotation with your images. The result is » Circlorator « and it’s basically just a Pixelbender filter and some UI elements and that’s it. Give it a try and generate your own artworks.

For those who want to play with the filter a little bit, there you go CirclorateFilter.zip

  1. That’s a nice effect! One thing I wonder is if you are using sampleNearest() inside Pixel Bender. The edges seem to be a bit pixellated, so I think you should try sampleLinear().

  2. yes I’m using sampleNearest() … just tried sampleLinear() but there is no remarkable difference

  3. Did you try an image with sharp edges?

  4. oh yes. you’re right … looks much better with sampleLinear(). thanks a lot

  5. I improved the calculation at the edges a little bit, so it looks better even more … test it!
